This track has been literally decades in the making. It was one of the first ideas I had, and I’ve been gradually re-visiting and tweaking the session over the years ever since. It finally started taking shape when I travelled with my girlfriend to Santa Fe for a weekend getaway.
As I wrote this piece, I kept imagining travel late at night. The main rhythmic element is a slow moving pair of wiper blades on a car. The piano chords evolved from that initial sound. I’m excited about finally getting this out and documented. It started me on the road (no pun intended) of blending field recordings and music – organic and digital sound mashed together.
