I’ve just finished mixing some more tracks for PremiumBeat library. I write trakccs for the library when I get time – it keeps me on my toes creatively. The scope this time was folktronica. I had just moved countries from the UK to the USA, and my studio hadn’t shipped over yet. So I wrote the entire EP on Digitakt, and just transferred it over to DAW for mix once the studio arrived on a palette.
The more I use this thing, the more I feel like it was made for me. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of making beats with it, and there are so many more paths to chase with it. Sampling and resampling for a start. It’s very deep when it comes to being able to really change a sound. A new version of the digitakt has shown up, but I’m not sure I’m going to need it. This one’s plenty enough for me.
I made a video about it a while back, and hopefully there’ll be more to follow soon.
